It’s a point apiece in the Shane Hill derby encounter

by | Mar 6, 2021

Larne left the Ballymena Showgrounds with a point to put on the table this evening.

The deadlock was broken on the 34th minute when Larne defender Albert Watson tried to clear an excellent cross into the box from Ballymena. Unfortunately for the defender, the ball ended up in the back of the Larne net giving the home side the lead.

Just before the blow of the whistle for the break David McDaid was close to sending the former Ballymena man Johnny McMurray through on goal but the flag was up from the linesman.

The second half saw Larne’s equaliser from the substitute Ronan Hale’s clinical finish with help from Tomas Cosgrove.

Larne now moves up to 3rd with a point clear of Glentoran but Larne has played two games more than them.

FULL TIME: Larne 1 – Ballymena 1
