Larne Get Their Man as Chris Gallagher Arrives at Inver

by | Jan 15, 2024

The defending Irish League champions Larne have announced the signing of Chris Gallagher from Cliftonville as part of a deal that sees Shea Gordon moving in the opposite direction to join Cliftonville.

Chris Gallagher’s journey in professional football started with EFL League One’s Shrewsbury Town, and included loan periods at both Stalybridge and Stoubridge. In 2018, Gallagher returned to Irish League football, initially with Glentoran, before a move to Cliftonville. Gallagher’s stint at Solitude includes helping Cliftonville secure a second-place league finish and clinching the League Cup.

Larne Manager, Tiernan Lynch, expressed his excitement about Gallagher’s arrival at Inver Park. “We’ve been quite open about our intention to strengthen our squad, and Chris is exactly the kind of player we’ve been looking for,” Lynch remarked. “With the season still full of opportunities across three competitions, Chris’s arrival is timely. His well-known abilities in the league and his prime years ahead make him an invaluable addition to our team.”

Lynch also took a moment to commend Shea Gordon for his dedication and achievements with Larne Football Club. “Shea has been a model professional and played a pivotal role in our success last season. He leaves us as a league champion and with our very best wishes for his future.”
